Sulla distanza
An accumulation of anonymous ready-made images taken during aeroplane journeys proposed by an algorithm and of personal visual impressions of skies and clouds, problematizes photography by operating on it: the artistic gesture superimposed ex post is the re-appropriation of a trivialised visual moment, in order to contextualise it and substantiate it with a new meaning, in a sort of unexpected emotional event. This re-signified image, subtracted from the virtual and printed space, becomes the matrix-generator of the same, on which I operate manually by means of graphic strokes or superimposition with my own photographs; a compensatory gesture of the shot that allows the photograph to be framed in definable visual and space-time coordinates. The notions of journey, distance, fragment, once again come to interrogate my artistic research by placing it in dialogue with the virtual anonymous and giving it possibilities for experimentation.
